  • Worcester Bosch 42 CDi combi
Showcase by T. Cosgrove - Plumbing and Heating Services, Glasgow's first port of call in Plumbing and Heating Services

These are some Worcester Bosch Greenstar combination boiler installs that we have completed since July 2008.
One boiler was installed in a garage in a semi-detached house in Waterfoot where the old boiler had been and the other boiler was installed in an old kitchen pantry next to the kitchen in a semi-detached house on Mearns Road in Clarkston and in another installation the new boiler was moved to the utility room from the old boiler position in the kitchen of a detached bungalow in Newton Mearns
The home owners were delighted with the work, the quality of the boilers and the hot water produced by them.
Two of the jobs were replacing old cast iron boilers which were over 25 years old and were very inefficient the other was a replacement for a ten year old Vokera Exel with very poor hot water.

Boiler services - modern technology with traditional service

Central heating boilers, condensing boilers: filled with modern technology to be as efficient as possible are truly good value for money.

T Cosgrove, accredited Worcester boiler installersTake for instance the superb Worcester-Bosch Greenstar range of condensing boilers. They come with a SEDBUK A rating and are over 90% efficient. The CDi combi boilers have a preheat facility for the hot water which ensures that the boiler constantly heats a small amount of hot water so that when you run a hot tap to wash a cup, for example, you don’t have to wait until the boiler fires to heat the water however you can turn this feature off to save even more money or you can programme the pre-heat function so that you can decide when it comes on by using one of Worcester Bosch’s optional programmers such as the DT10RF or DT20RF.

Some of the features of the DT10RF are; wall-mounted 24 hour programmable RF (wireless) digital thermostat combined with a fascia mounted single channel programmer to time the hot water combi preheat function. The programmer includes a built-in receiver for the room thermostat and all of the functionality of the DT20RF such as automatic time and date setup, automatic summer/wintertime changeover and a backlight for use in low light conditions and delayed start of the boiler by up to an hour depending on how hot or cold you house is in order that you save money on fuel by not heating your house when you don’t have to.

The Greenstar CDi Series boilers feature:

  • Power on/off switch.
  • Central heating variable temperature control selector.
  • Domestic hot water temperature control selector.
  • An integral facia with status display lights and a digital display which also operates as a fault diagnosis display.

Optional plug-in controls
The Greenstar CDi series of condensing combi boilers is available with a comprehensive range of easy-to-use controls, ranging from a simple mechanical timer to a choice of sophisticated radio-frequency digistats. All fascia mounted controls offer simple plug-in connection to the boiler circuit board.

Increased SAP Ratings
As well as the CDi models achieving very high SAP ratings for dwellings, the addition of the optimising temperature controller further increases these ratings as well as being part of the recommended best practice, as covered by the CHESS design standard.

Water quality in central heating system is crucial when installing modern condensing boilers so on all of our boiler installs we carry out a power flush of the heating system using a powerful power flushing pump to remove as much manganese sludge and other deposits as possible from your heating system.

We have recently purchased a MagnaClean® powerflushing filter to ensure that we can offer an even better service when we replace your old your boiler.

Here are some of the benefits of using this type of technology for both the installer and the home owner.
